Antique African Trade Style Statement Necklace with Chunky Natural Resin Beads
Vintage Art Deco oversized necklace featuring early resin or phenolic beads, possibly pre-Bakelite composition, with translucent marbled amber-colored accent beads. Materials have been hot-needle tested and produce a beeswax-like resin scent but do not exhibit the typical Simichrome reaction of classic Bakelite. The only color reaction with Simichrome swab was green color transfer from semi translucent yellow beads.
Exact composition is unknown and therefore sold as early resin.
Possibly of African origin based on construction and bead style.
