Exceptional mid-century Mexican Modernist brooch attributed to Antonio Pineda, crafted in handwrought 970 silver — a higher purity than sterling, prized for its smooth luster and sculptural depth.

The design features an abstract figural motif reminiscent of primitive or cave-painting forms — dancers, hunters, or athletes rendered in bold negative-space cutouts. A striking study in motion and balance, it embodies both modernist abstraction and ancient symbolism, characteristic of Pineda’s artistic exploration during the 1950s.

The back is partially obscured by the pin assembly but shows enough of the mark to support attribution. Solid weight and precise hand-finishing throughout.
