The locket opens on a sturdy hinge, creating a small hidden compartment traditionally used to hold a photo, keepsake, prayer, or tiny memento — sometimes referred to as a “poison” or “prayer” locket due to the cage-like construction.

Crafted from solid sterling silver with intentionally darkened recesses that highlight the ornate scrollwork. The pendant is unmarked but acid-tested as sterling silver. It hangs from a marked sterling silver chain.
