Large vintage African statement necklace featuring oversized tested phenolic resin (Bakelite) beads and a substantial white metal amulet plaque with dangling bells.

The beads tested positive with Simichrome and display attractive butterscotch and faux amber coloration with visible marbling and age-related wear. Several beads have hand-decorated hot-needle patterns in irregular, organic designs.

The rectangular central plaque is made of non-magnetic white metal. Acid testing was negative for silver. Attached bells produce a pleasant chime when worn or moved.

The necklace is strung (or restrung) on synthetic cord which shows noticeable wear and fraying near the central plaque. Please review photographs carefully, as restringing is recommended for long-term use.
