Vintage Mexico Alpaca Abalone Turquoise Hair Slide Stick Barrette 3.25
Unusual vintage Mexican alpaca silver hair slide featuring sweeping figure-eight forms inlaid with iridescent abalone shell and accented by two blue turquoise cabochons. The removable metal hair stick passes through the open center and is attached by a safety chain — a much less common construction than a standard spring barrette.
The combination of substantial metalwork, vivid abalone mosaic abnd turquoise gives the piece a striking Southwestern / Mexican artisan character.
