This striking piece is a fine example of mid-century Venetian glasswork, specifically featuring the complex Sommerso (submerged) and foil techniques.

The mix of geometric shapes and the rich pink-to-red palette is characteristic of the Italian Modernist influence of the mid-20th century.

The necklace showcases a mix of hand-blown lampwork beads in "Cranberry" or "Ruby" red, including distinctive square, ovoid, and ribbed "melon" shapes. The interior silver or gold foil creates a luminous, shimmering effect common in high-quality Murano glass from the 1950s–1970s.

The strand is professionally finished with bullion wraps (also known as French wire or gimp). This is a traditional high-end jewelry technique where tiny coiled wires cover the thread at the loops.

The jump ring on the hook side is stamped 925, indicating sterling silver. The extension is tested as sterling.
